Our Belief:

  • 1. God The Only And True God

  • We believe that the Bible scriptures teach us that there is one God, and only one living and true God. Isaiah 44:6,8, 45:5 −7,12,18, 21,21 −25, 46:9.

  • 2. He is the infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Creator, preserver, ruler of the universe, infinite in holiness, whom we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.

  • 3. He has revealed himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1, Exodus 3:14, Jer.10:10, God the true and living God. (Matt 28:19) distinct personal attributes)

  • 2. The Fall Of Man

  • We believe that Bible scriptures teach us that God created man a perfect being, but through the temptation of Satan, and the yielding of man, he transgressed the commandment of God. Because of man’s disobedience, the sin of disobedience brought forth death into the world. Man, therefore, fell from God's original holiness to a corrupt nature making all mankind sinners that need forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. Genesis 3:4 −7, Rom 5:12 −14.

  • 3. The Way Of Salvation

  • 1. We believe that Bible scriptures teach us that the way of salvation only comes through Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.

  • 2. Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary and took upon him a human nature, Matt 1:21‐25; yet without sins; in complete obedience to the Father's will, John 8:28‐29, took our sins to Calvary cross, died, was risen and now sits at the right hand of the Father. John 14:6, Eph 1:7 −14.

  • 4. Regeneration

  • 1. We also believe that the Bible scriptures teach us that without regeneration, man cannot obtain salvation.

  • 2. Before one can be saved, we believe that there must be a change of heart that is wrought by the Holy Spirit of God. John 3:1 −8, That is born from above, or born again.

  • 5. Repentance And Faith

  • 1. We also believe that Bible scripture teaches that repentance and faith are inseparable. Faith in Jesus will lead one to a repentance life and repentance comes about when faith is acted upon. They are both sacred duties wrought in our soul by a regenerating Spirit of God.

  • 2. As we have been moved and experience the grace of God, we are convinced of our guilt, our helplessness and asking for mercy at the same time; receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, high Priest and King who is the Son of the living God. Luke 13:1 −5, John 3:16, Acts 2:38, Act 3:19.

  • 6. Justification

  • 1. We believe that Bible scriptures teach us that we have been acquitted from our guilt, our transgression, our iniquity and our sins, not by our own righteousness but by the grace of God that was bestowed upon us by the putting on our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the only living God.

  • 2. We believe that it is not by the works of our righteousness, nor by the salvation of any other persons.

  • 3. We believe that justification brought us into a state of blessed peace and favor with God, secures us with any needed blessing from the present time now through eternity. Eph.2:8 −9, Rom 5:1‐2.

  • 7. Freeness of Salvation

  • 1. We believe that the Bible scriptures teach that the blessings of salvation are made free to all that believe and receive the gospel.

  • 2. We believe that nothing prevents the lost and unconverted from receiving salvation except they voluntarily refuse to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God and his teaching. Mark 16:16, John 3:14 −17, Rev 22:17.

  • 8. Sanctification

  • 1. We believe that the Bible scriptures teach us that sanctification is the process will of God that makes us partakers of his holiness; that it also is a progressive work; that is began in us the moment, the day and time we responded to the gospel. It is carried in the hearts of every believer that accepts Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.

  • 2. Sanctification is brought about in our lives by self‐examination, self‐denial, watchfulness, prayer, unselfish service and giving.

  • 3. Sanctification is carried in our hearts by the working of the Holy Spirit as we yield ourselves to God’s Holy Word. John 17:15 −17, Act 20:32, Gal 5:16 −26.

  • 9. The Purpose Of The Grace

  • 1. We believe the Bible teaches us that God's grace is the way of salvation to all mankind.

  • 2. God's grace regenerates, excludes boasting and promotes humility; Ephs. 2:7 −8 ,brings about repentance in one life, sanctifies us for holy living, Heb 4:16, enables us for services.

  • 3. We believe that it is a display of God’s sovereign goodness

  • 10. A Gospel Church

  • 1. We believe that the Bible teaches that the church of Christ is a congregation of obedient baptized believers, that have been called out of the world and now trust in the gospel.

  • 2. Jesus Christ is the crucified, buried and risen Savior who now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Matt 28:19 −20.

  • 3. Associated by our faith and fellowship of the gospel. Acts 2:4 1 −47,observing the ordinances of Christ; Luke 22:7 −23 governed by his Holy Word; exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges given to us by the Holy Spirit.

  • 4. God’s Word teaches us that Bishops, Pastors, and Deacons are the spiritual officers in the church.

  • 5. These officers' qualifications are found in the Epistles of Timothy and Titus.

  • 6. Such leaders, teachers and workers may be selected as church deems necessary to carry out its functions of the gospel.

  • 7. We believe as a church that we are self‐governed and independent to manage our affairs as needed under moral obligation. Matt.18:15 −18. Matt.16:18.

  • 11. Baptism

  • 1. We believe the Bible teaches Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer. Matt. 3:13 −17, Mark 1:9 −11,Luke 3:21 −22.

  • 2. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Matt. 28:19 −20. To show forth their faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior with effect in our death of sins and resurrection to a new life. Acts 8:38 −39.

  • 3. A person who receives Jesus Christ as Savior by personal faith; who professes him publicly at any worship services; and who indicates a commitment to follow Christ as Lord, shall be received for baptism.

  • A. Baptism shall be by immersion in water.

  • B. Baptism shall be administered by the pastor or an ordained official. The deacons and deaconess shall remain in preparation for, and observance of baptism.

  • C. Baptism shall be administered as an act of worship during any worship service

  • D. A person professing Christ and failing to be baptized after a reasonable length of time shall be counseled by the pastor and /or staff and deacons. If negative interest is ascertained, he shall be deleted from those awaiting baptism.

  • 12. The Lord's Supper

  • 1. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and fruit o f the vine, are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ, preceded always by self-examination.

  • 2. The Lord’s Supper Luke 22:19, I Cor 11:23-30 commemorates the death of Jesus Christ and anticipate his second coming.

  • A. The Lord's supper shall be observed the first Sunday of every month.

  • B. The pastor and the deacons shall be responsible for the administration of the Lord’s Supper.

  • C. The deacons and deaconesses shall be responsible for the physical preparations of the Lord’s Supper

  • 13. The Lord's Day

  • 1. We believe the Bible teaches that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day.

  • 2. It is the Christian day for regular observance. It commemorates the resurrection of Christ from the dead and should be kept sacred to religious worship and spiritual purposes. John 20:1, Matt 28:1 −6, Rev 1:9 −11 refraining from work unless it is a necessity. Luke 14:1‐6.

  • 14. Righteous And The Wicked

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach that there is a great difference between the righteous and the wicked. The righteous who are sanctified through the Holy Spirit by faith in Jesus Christ are the only ones who are justified and truly made righteous in God's sight. Luke 23:43, Rom 5:1 For those who continue in disbelief are in God's sight wicked and under the condemnation of His wrath. Mark 9:48, John 3:36

  • 2. There will be a distinction made between the righteous and the wicked manifested at the day of judgment when final and everlasting awards be made to all men. Matt. 25:31 −46.

  • 15. God’s Creation Of Man

  • 1. God's Word tells us that He is self-existing and ever-existing. In the eternity past, God was there. At a certain point He made a decision to create man. God's desire was to have this man express Him in His image and represent Him with His authority on earth. Gen. 1:26-28; 2:7.

  • 2. Man's life is the highest created life, much higher in quality than the plant life or animal life. Not only so, man was created after God's kind. The animals in God's creation were created after their own kind.

  • 3. All human beings, regardless of their race or nationality, are vessels of God. The Bible, the word of God, divides this vessel into three parts - the spirit, the soul, and the body 1 Thes. 5:23. Everyone is aware of his own physical body.

  • 16. The Resurrection

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach that Jesus Christ, God's only Son, has risen from the dead. The facts of the scriptures are made known to us that the grave was empty.

  • 2. He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection in many convincing manifestations.

  • 3. He now exists in the glorified body at the right hand of God. We also believe the body of the righteous will put on a glorified body like that of Jesus Christ, the risen Savior. Matt 28:1 −6, John 20:1 −29, I Cor. 15:35 −58,II Cor 5:1 −10, I Thess 4:13 −17, Rev.20:12 −15.

  • 17. The Return Of The Lord

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach that no persons know the time of Jesus Christ’s return to the earth.

  • 2. It is our duty to live in the readiness of His return, in good works, and to make known to all men of our hope. Matt 24:29 −44, Mark 13: 24 −37; Luke 21:25 −28, Act 1:9 −11.

  • 18. Evangelism And Missionary

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach that it is the duty of every Christian man and woman; the duty of every church to share, witness and preach the gospel throughout the whole world until the end of time. Matt 10:5 −25, Matt 22:8 −10.

  • 2. We believe a born‐again believer should show forth the love of God for all mankind regardless of color, sex or race. We believe it is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by personal effort. Matt 28:19 −20, Mark 16:19 −20, Mark 16:15 −16, Luke 24:46 −53, Acts 1: 8, Acts 13:30 −33.

  • 19. Community Service

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach on mercy and showing compassion toward our fellow man that is unable to help himself, whether member or non member.

  • 2. We believe when a need should come, we should show forth the spirit of Christ in that need.

  • 3. Aid the orphaned, the helpless, the aged, the disabled, and the sick when able to do so. Luke 6:27‐36, Luke 10:25‐37.

  • 20. Stewardship, Church Finances

  • 1. We believe the Bible scriptures teach that stewardship is the source of all physical and spiritual blessings; all that we have belongs to the Lord.

  • 2. We are to be faithful stewards of all our possessions. We are under the obligation to serve Him with our time, talents, gifts and material possessions. Luke 12:41 −48 Matt 25:14 −30.

  • 3. We recognize all God has entrusted us with is to be used for the glory of His name and helping others.

  • 4. We, as Christians, believe that tithing should be given cheerfully, regularly, and systematically. We believe tithes and offerings are the only plan of church finances in the Bible. Lev.27:30.

  • 5. We therefore believe tithes should be brought into the Lord's house weekly at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church which has been sanctified by the Lord for his works. I Cor 16:2.

  • 6. Tithing is giving a tenth of one's income. Offering is the amount given above the tenth. Malachi 3:8 −12, Matt 23:23, Act 2:44 −47.

  • 21. Perseverance Of Saints

  • We believe the Scriptures teach that saints are real believers and endure to the end; that the persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors; that a special providence watches over their welfare; and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. John 5:24; John 10:27-29; 2 Timothy 1:12; 2 Timothy 4:7-8

  • 22. Sanctity Of Marriage

  • 1. We believe marriage is a gift from God for the blessing of men, women and children and for the good of society. Genesis 2:18,21-24; Matthew 19:5-6

  • 2. We believe that same-sex marriages are a disintegration and an abomination in the sight of God. Leviticus 18:22

  • 3. We believe that cohabitation is a disintegration and an abomination in the sight of God. I Thess 4:3; I Cor.5:1

  • 4. We believe that God has revealed to all people, of all cultures, at all times, a sense of morality in the ordering of human relationships. Roman 1:18-20

  • 5. When God created Adam and Eve, He ordained marriage as a fundamental institution of society. Genesis 1:27-28

  • 6. Furthermore, it is the belief of Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church that a marriage is a holy union between God, man, and woman.

  • 7. A woman is biologically a woman at birth. A man is biologically man at birth.

 We are a church family that believes in reaching out and helping others, while achieving our mission statement, “No Souls Left Behind”.
